Mason Miller is a California and Illinois licensed architect based in the North Shore of Chicago. He received his architecture degree from Rensselaer in Troy, NY in 1995. While there, he was awarded the prize for best thesis and spent a semester studying in Rome.
Prior to starting his own studio, Mason worked as an architect with Skidmore Owings & Merrill working on projects such as the new U.S. Embassy in Beijing, China, the new University of California at Merced, and several large office towers in China. While working at Skidmore, his work was awarded recognition by the American Institute of Architects and published widely in books and periodicals.
Following his time at SOM(Skidmore Owings and Merrill), Mason worked as an in-house Architect & Project Manager for a real estate development company specializing in commercial and residential work. With his own practice, Mason has extensive experience designing single family homes - from new residences in New York and Maine to complete remodels in California. On a personal front, Mason is an avid sailor, soccer player and proud father. Mason is currently on the Wilmette Appearance Review Commission reviewing commercial work for design. He has done volunteer work for Designs 4 Dignity - a non-profit organization that transforms the existing spaces of other non-profits through pro bono design services , allowing them to provide comfortable, supportive and healing physical environments for the populations they serve.
